In May 2019, we were engaged to design the public interior of a new multi-disciplinary private medical facility in Calgary’s Marda Loop neighborhood. Working within a tight timeline and 2,900 square feet of the total 10,000 square foot footprint, we crafted a concept that merges a luxury boutique hotel experience with a surgical setting, transforming the typically sterile medical environment into one of warmth, comfort, and refined elegance.

Since completion, IWAA has changed hands and is now operated by Skin Clinics, further expanding the space’s impact and longevity within the community.

This project breaks away from conventional medical interiors by introducing rich materials, thoughtful lighting, and curated art. Sustainable, practical finishes such as large-format porcelain tile and dark stained oak are balanced with plush textiles and layered textures to elevate patient care into an inviting, five-star experience.

The result is a distinctive space that supports our clients’ commitment to innovative, patient-centered care, offering a level of luxury and comfort rarely seen in healthcare settings.
